Deborah H. Dahl, BSE, MBA, is an Associate Administrator for BannerDesertMedicalCenter. BannerDesert is the largest (600 beds), most comprehensive hospital in the EastValley of metropolitan Phoenix. Located on an 80-acre campus, its 1,500 physicians and 3,000 plus employees are dedicated to making a difference in people’s lives through excellent patient care.
In 2004 BannerDesert saw approximately 100,000 patients in the Emergency Department, delivered 8,123 babies, and provided care for 1,300 new cancer diagnosis patients. It is also home to Banner Children’s Hospital where its medical professionals specialize in inpatient and outpatient pediatric care, pediatric and neonatal ICUs, pediatric rehabilitation and pediatric emergency care.
Prior to her position as Associate Administrator, Ms. Dahl was Vice President of Technology and Materials for Banner Health System. Banner’s Technology Management division, focuses on clinical technologies; coordinating the capital prioritization process, monitoring, assessing and coordinating adoption of technologies as well as providing the traditional Biomedical Engineering services for over 30 facilities in 8 states. With an annual budget of $363 million dollars, Banner’s Materials Management division encompasses the materials contracting, purchasing, and distribution for non-pharmaceutical materials.
She has held various engineering and management positions including Vice President of Operations for ENTECH.
Ms. Dahl has published with various journals including Chest, Critical Care, AHA Hospital Technology Series, and Biomedical Instrumentation Materials Management in Healthcare. She has conducted presentations with AAMI, ASHE, ASHMM, VHA and AHA.
Ms. Dahl holds a Bachelors of Engineering and an MBA from Arizona State University. She began her career with Samaritan Health System (now Banner Health System) in 1976 as a bioengineering intern.
