Lou Silverman, Chairman and CEO of Advanced ICU Care, has served in executive leadership roles for health care technology and services companies for more than 20 years. Prior to joining Advanced ICU Care as Chairman and CEO, Silverman served for three years as CEO of Marina Medical Billing Services, Inc., a technology-enabled provider of revenue cycle management services to emergency department physicians. During his tenure at Marina, the number of hospitals under management increased by nearly 60 percent. From 2000-2008, Silverman served as President and CEO of Quality Systems, Inc., an information technology company that develops and markets administrative and patient record software to hospitals, physicians and dentists. Quality Systems is a publicly traded company (NASDAQ:QSII) and among the early leaders in the electronic medical records marketplace. During Silverman’s eight years of leadership, the company’s revenue grew nearly 800 percent to about $250 million and its market capitalization increased nearly 30-fold to $1.2 billion. Quality Systems was named to Forbes Magazine’s list of 200 Best Small Public Companies for each year of his tenure, rising to #4 in 2008. Silverman is also the former Chief Operations Officer (COO) of CorVel Corp., a managed care services company serving the worker’s compensation, auto and health markets. CorVel achieved seven consecutive years of growth during his tenure (1993-2000), and was listed consistently among Forbes’ Best Small Public Companies. Silverman earned his M.B.A. degree from the Harvard Business School and his B.A. degree in American Studies (cum laude) from Amherst College. He serves on the board of directors for a variety of health care companies, both public and private.
